Here
Psalm 42: A love letter
My dearest beloved,
Tears have been your food day and night
But I see you
you cried out Where is my God?
And I answered Here
I am Here.
you ask, When can I go and meet with God?
My soul aches thirsts pants yearns for You
I am Here.
I used to dance in Your presence
Among a festive throng but why soul, why my soul are you downcast?
Why so disturbed?
I am Here. Just as I was with you on Mount Mizar
Little hill of sweet communion.
Just as I was at the beginning of time, calling your name, choosing you.
Deep calls to deep
I will be your love by day and your song by night
But why have You forgotten me?
How long must the mourning be and the bone agony
The constant doubting,
Where is my God?
I am Here.
Why my soul, why soul are you downcast?
I am Here
Why so disturbed, soul?
Beloved,
I am Here.
My dearest beloved, be held.
