meditation on Deuteronomy 3:22, “Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you” (NASB)
wrapped in a blanket
cold jeans, muddy keds
i prayed
do not fear
waiting for the sun
calm water, dark trees
i prayed
for the Lord
waving the night away
pink sky, steaming lake
i prayed
is the One
walking to the edge
pounding heart, frail hope
i prayed
fighting for you
when the clouds parted
gold light, warm embrace
i prayed
meditation on Psalm 34:4, “I sought the Lord, and He answered me / And delivered me from all my fears”
i sought the Lord
on replay
day and night
i did not hear when
He answered me
in pieces
big and small
freely poured into me
and delivered me
with grace
lavish and endless
i did nothing yet He lifted me
from all my fears
meditation on Exodus 33:14, “And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest,” and John 1:4, “Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these”
in
My presence will
hold
go
out
with you and
in
Me you will find
hold
ease
out
see I will
in
show you greater
hold
things
out
than this and
in
Me you will
hold
find
Rest
